Everything you need to know about Lagoinha to prepare your stay well!

Lagoinha is a charming little fishing village, quiet and safe, located on the heights, with a magnificent view of the bay of Lagoinha.
You can admire the sea from the splendid viewpoints, and descend to the beach (where the kitesurfing school is located) in 5 minutes, by road or by large stairs which plunge down to the sea (enjoy the superb view). The sea is rather calm, the water is emerald, you can swim there in peace by admiring our majestic orange dune, the “postcard” of Lagoinha, or of course kite or surf there.
There are a few hotels on the beach, restaurants open in the evening, and beach huts as well as our kite school-restaurant.
You can make wonderful walks, on foot, in a buggy or in a 4 × 4, to discover the surroundings, the beauty of its landscapes attracts tourists from all over Brazil (the beach is, therefore, more lively on weekends).
For your kitesurfing sessions, if you want flat water, you can go by buggy or 4 × 4 to the lagoon do Jegue (joining the school or not, count 80Rs / around 18 € for a round trip to divide between the number of passengers) in 7/8 minutes by the beach, or downwind (very easy) or even on foot.

In the village, you will find all the amenities, what you can eat in the evening – restaurants, pizzerias, grills, small estancos, home cooking …. – (count between 4 € and 15 € the meal with drinks), small convenience stores, a pharmacy, etc.

You have wifi in the pousadas, a cybercafe on the square, and 3G everywhere (you can buy a sim card from the operator TIM for example at the pharmacy and have it “registered” to have internet everywhere).

The village is not large so it is possible to do everything on foot, and the pousadas are very close to the village square and the beach.
It is possible to eat every day on the square, which comes alive especially on weekends, with Brazilian music (there are often concerts). We often organize evenings with music at Kite-on school.

Withdrawal of money

For cash (the credit card is accepted now in some of the establishments), it is advisable to withdraw by credit card when arriving at the airport, it is the fastest and most economical way, however, think about having your bank raise the withdrawal limits abroad if necessary so as not to remain blocked. Otherwise, you can go to the neighboring town; Paraipaba (10 minutes shuttle, taxi cars that go back and forth all day until 5:45 pm and that you will take at the entrance of the village), where you will find distributors of the Bradesco bank which work very well with international cards.

The Brazilian currency is Real (R $). Consult the exact exchange rate in euros here.

Language

Our team is French, but you can communicate with the Brazilians: they are very welcoming and always ready to start a conversation with you, even if very few speak or understand English. Get a little dictionary if you don’t speak Portuguese, and use your Spanish skills that Brazilians understand relatively well. Brazilian Portuguese is a very nice language that you will enjoy using, even if only to wish a “Bom dia !!”

Airport & Transfers

You must land at Fortaleza International Airport (FOR), which is very well served from Europe or the US, 125km from Lagoinha.

We organize your taxi transfer from the airport with our trusted taxis, the driver of which speaks French. There is also a Fortaleza / Lagoinha or Paraipaba bus line from the Fretcar company (local bus transport). You can also rent a car at the airport if you plan to visit several other more distant spots; even in Lagoinha you don’t need a car, you can do everything on foot. On-site, you will find it very easy to get around in a buggy or 4X4 (magnificent walks on the beach).

To go to the lagoon, you can join the school or take your transport separately, count 80Rs (about 18 €) for a round trip to divide between the number of passengers in 7/8 minutes by the beach, or downwind (very easy) or even on foot.
